The following year's faire, or when I was next at that faire with you
I was eating lunch in the lunch pavilion, and the king showed up with his entourage, or was sitting there eating, I don't quite remember. There was a camera crew from the local TV station and IIRC they asked the King for an interview or a commercial bumper.
He acted Perplexed at this Technological Device
The cameraman, unaware of what was about to happen, showed the King the playback
The king freaked the fuck out and said something about "DEVILRY! BLACK MAGIC!" and the guards drew weapons at the cameraman, who was very surprised and not sure if his life was in danger or if it was just an act.
The commotion turned a lot of heads.
Don't remember if it was one of the guards or the guy acting as his "vizier" that de-escalated and had the guards stand down. Or if it was the cameraman freaking out that one of the (guards) realized they made it a little too real

yeah. Sometimes these memories are ones I wish I didn't keep in my head, even on the back-back burner
but then come springing out retreading the stories and (mis)adventures we've experienced
